Helping In The Kitchen..

July 10, 2008 at 2:19 am (Nanniness)

Helping in the kitchen… that’s me alright. I’m love to cook almost as much as I love to write, and there’s always a lesson to be learned when one is not cooking in the kitchen, but is instead helping/watching the main chef. Tonight’s lesson: plastic spatulas are not meant to be dropped into a mixing bowl that is going at a semi fast rate. I’m standing there and it’s all good, just helping, reading off the instructions for Bannana Bread and so my aunt needed to get some peanut butter into the batter to substitute for both the nuts and the cooking oil, and one minute i’m reading and WHAMMO!!! Peanut butter and a lil bit of batter is splattered a little bit over the cookbook (as a matter of fact, i got a thumbnail sized glob of peanut butter on the page i was reading from). I didn’t find it funny until my auntn pointed out how the spatula had broken… I mean, yeah, flying peanut butter is pretty funny in its own right, but something about the spatula getting broken and that leading to my aunt’s facial expression was hillarious.I don’t know why it’s funny, but it just is. I think it had to be a you had to be there moment. Either way, the first thing I said after i laughed, like really laughed, was “dude, this is so going in the blog.”

See, told you that being a nanny would be interesting.
